Inhaltsangabe: Zusammenfassung: Soziologische Fragestellungen und Forschungsinteressen können vielseitig motiviert sein. Ein möglicher Anla zur Beschäftigung mit einem speziellen Themenbereich kann darin begründet sein, da ein gesellschaftlich relevantes Thema aufgegriffen und aus einer wissenschaftlichen Perspektive heraus bearbeitet wird. Auch die vorliegende Arbeit kann als Reaktion auf einen gesellschaftlichen und darüber hinaus wissenschaftlichen Diskurs verstanden werden. Seit dem Beginn der Computerisierung der Arbeits- und Alltagswelten werden im Rückgriff auf das Verhältnis 'Frauen, Mädchen und Technik' geschlechtsspezifische Zugangsweisen zum Computer problematisiert. Unter Zugangsweisen fasse ich die konkreten Umgangsformen der Computernutzung, die jeweiligen Nutzungsmöglichkeiten (Computerbesitz und Nutzungsgelegenheiten) sowie die Artikulation von Einstellungen und Interesse gegenüber dem Computer. Den Begriff 'geschlechtsspezifisch' verwende ich -losgelöst von der m.E. wenig fruchtbaren Diskussion um die Begriffsverwendungen 'geschlechtstypisch' vs. 'geschlechtsspezifisch'- um deutlich zu machen, da sich die Analyse der Zugangsweisen zunächst auf Unterschiede zwischen den Geschlechtern konzentriert. Die Thematisierung und Interpretation möglicher Befunde variieren je nach Perspektive und liefern unterschiedliche Begründungen für soziale, bildungspolitische und auch wirtschaftliche Ma nahmen zur Handhabung bzw. Behebung der geschlechtsspezifischen Differenzen. Parallel zu den gesellschaftlichen Diskussionen wuchs der Bestand an wissenschaftlichen Beiträgen in Form von Untersuchungen, theoretischen Erklärungsansätzen und Überblicksarbeiten an. Die eigentliche Motivation zu dieser Fragestellung entstand bei der interessierten Durchsicht wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten zum Thema, wobei ich feststellen mu te, da die theoretische Aufarbeitung möglicher Ursachen der geschlechtsspezifischen Zugangsweisen in vielen Fällen wenig überzeugte.
