It combines three essays on architecture (the fortress and palace), ceramics (Iron Age) and on small discoveries and coins (from the Hellenistic to the Modern Period). The famous reliefs and inscriptions of Karatepe are placed within their archaeological context for the first time and the similarities and differences to Anatolian, north Syrian and Levantine parallels discussed.
