Dr. Das possesses an outstanding academic career that includes an M.Sc. in Geology from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, a Ph.D. in Geochemistry from the Glasgow University in Scotland. He was an also an Officer of Harvard University where he conducted pioneering postdoctoral research on the chemical evolution of oceans.

Dr. Das worked as a professor of geology at Ravenshaw University and is a visiting professor at the Hiroshima Kokusai Gakuin University. Professor Das is also the president of a Hiroshima based company, Hiroshima Energy, and Minerals Kabushiki Kaisha.
