She attended grade school in a one-room school house and graduated from El Campo High School in El Campo, Texas. She is married to her teenage sweetheeart. They had three children and live in Sun City, Arizona. Through the urging of her cousin, Father Gary Janak to write about her story, she finally relented and decided she could at least try. She found many journals to refresh her memory. Journals that were jotted down as therapy for herself and found closure and peace after writing this book.
