Escobar, Melicia: - Dr. Escobar is a Philadelphia-based midwife/WHNP educator and clinician with experience in pregnancy and birth care across a variety of settings since 2007. She is currently the Program Director and Assistant Professor in Georgetown University's Nurse-Midwifery/WHNP & WHNP Programs. She is a 2024-2025 American Association of Colleges of Nursing Elevating Leaders in Academic Nursing (ELAN) Fellow, 2024 Principal member of the GUMC Teaching Academy in the educational leadership domain, recipient of a 2021 March of Dimes Graduate Nursing Scholarship, 2020-2021 Gender+ Justice Initiative Fellow, and a 2017 American Association of Medical Colleges LEAD Fellow. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and midwifery textbooks. She is co-editor of Midwifery & Women's Health Nurse Practitioner Certification Review Guide. She is the Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (JEDI) Consulting Editor for the'Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health.Dr. Escobar is a Fellow (2021), an active member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM), and winner of the 2024 Health Equity Award. Nagtalon-Ramos, Jamille: - Dr. Jamille Nagtalon-Ramos is a distinguished clinician, researcher, educator, and award winning author. She is an Assistant Professor at Rutgers University and a women's health nurse practitioner at Penn Medicine. She was instrumental in developing the first obstetric nurse practitioner hospitalist position in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2003. Dr. Nagtalon-Ramos' research centers on two vital areas: (1) improving the sexual and reproductive health of Filipino women in the global diaspora and (2) fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and equitable access to healthcare.
