So ist der Logistik derzeit ein Anteil zwischen 20 und 40 Prozent am gesamten Unternehmenserfolg zuzuordnen (vgl. Wildemann 2008, S. 4). Die wachsenden Strukturen und die Internationalisierung der Unternehmen und somit auch der Logistik, sowie der stetig steigende Konkurrenzdruck am Markt erfordern ein leistungsstarkes Logistik-Controlling, welches den reibungslosen Ablauf der betrieblichen Logistikprozesse gewährleistet. Schnelle Anpassungen an die dynamischen Veränderungen des Marktes müssen erfolgen können und es muss zu jeder Zeit möglich sein Aussagen über die derzeitige Logistiksachlage treffen zu können. Damit das Logistik-Controlling effektiv arbeiten kann, das hei t logistische Strategien und Ma nahmen entwickeln, durchführen und überwachen, hat sich die Verwendung von betrieblichen Kennzahlen zu einem wichtigen und wirkungsvollen Werkzeug etabliert. Dies ermöglicht es fundierte und aussagekräftige Angaben über die Logistik-Situation des Betriebes und betriebliche Entwicklungen treffen zu können und bietet somit gro es Potential hinsichtlich des Unternehmenserfolges und -fortbestandes. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es dem Leser einen Überblick über die Aufgaben und Funktionen des kennzahlenorientierten Logistik-Controllings zu geben und wo, beziehungsweise inwieweit dabei die Verwendung von Kennzahlen eine Rolle spielt.
