On May 2, 2024, hundreds of Rohingya men, women, and children in the village of Htan Shauk Khan ("Hoyya Siri") were massacred. This groundbreaking report provides detailed evidence that the Arakan Army (AA), under direct command, carried out mass executions, systematic sexual violence, and arbitrary detentions in Buthidaung Township, northern Rakhine State.

Drawing on nineteen first-hand interviews with survivors-including men who lost their entire families and women who endured horrific sexual violence-human rights lawyer and activist Razia Sultana presents an unflinching account of the atrocities. Testimonies reveal how villagers were ordered from their homes, lined up in rows, and executed on command. Entire families were wiped out. Homes and mosques were burned to the ground. Women were raped, murdered, or kept as sex slaves in military camps.

Direct orders to massacre Rohingya civilians.
Evidence of sexual slavery and gender-based violence.
