In dieser Arbeit wird diese Fragestellung mithilfe von interdisziplinären Studien aus der Soziologie, Sozial- und Evolutionspsychologie und der Familienökonomik länderübergreifend erforscht. Zudem erhebt die Arbeit den Anspruch, ein Verständnis dafür zu schaffen, inwieweit bei der Partnerwahl Entscheidungen auf Basis von klassistischen Denkweisen "diskriminierend" sind und welche individuellen und gesellschaftlichen Auswirkungen sie haben. Da eine Liebesbeziehung jedoch nicht isoliert anhand von Voraussetzungen, Abläufe und Folgen im gesamtgesellschaftlichen Gefüge erklärt werden kann, sondern die Auswirkung sozialer Interaktionen mitberücksichtigt werden müssen, gibt es einen sozialpsychologischen Teil über die Partnerwahl. Hier wird anhand aktueller Studien von Gignac u. Zajenkowski (2019), sowie von Goleman (2020), insbesondere die Herzensbildung als neuer gültiger klassismusfreier Partnerwahlerklärungsansatz dargelegt. Die Evolutionspsychologie hob die Bedeutung der sozialen Klasse bei einer Person hervor und auch medial öffentlich präsentierte der bekannte Arzt Dr. Eckart von Hirschhausen im WDR einen Ansatz, nach welchem die Partnerwahlen über den Beruf nach einem hierarchischen Muster ablaufen. Um diese Thesen besonders unter soziologischer Perspektive zu analysieren und zu überprüfen, soll die Ausarbeitung den Titel "Durch Klassendenken zur gro en Liebe?" tragen. Bereits nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg wurde von Universitäten, wie der Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen, besonderer Wert darauf gelegt, die 'Vorurteile des 'Klassenhochmutes' zu überwinden, was mithilfe dieser Arbeit ein Jahrhundert später ebenfalls versucht wird.
