Globales Klima und lokale Umwelt sind zwei Seiten einer Medaille. Schadstoffminimierung segelt häufig zu Unrecht unter der Klimaflagge. Manchmal hat man den Eindruck, das wird bewusst benutzt, um von der Klimadiskussion abzulenken, den Menschen weis zu machen, wir tun doch was, obwohl ein ganz anderes Problem behandelt wird. Der Autor möchte auf Zusammenhänge und Widersprüche hinweisen, einige Gedanken vortragen. Bei dieser kritischen Betrachtung ergeben sich viele Fragen. aber sehr wenige Antworten. Klima muss streng genommen als Unterbegriff zum Oberbegriff Umwelt behandelt werden. Weil der Umgang mit dem globalen Klima und der lokalen Umwelt oft nicht in die gleiche Richtung läuft, ohne dass die Öffentlichkeit darüber aufgeklärt wird, hat der Autor im Titel das "oder" gewählt.

Der Autor ist Naturwissenschaftler, in Hamburg geboren und aufgewachsen, und lebt in Süddeutschland. Er war Jahrzehnte in der industriellen Forschung tätig und befasst sich schon immer viel mit Ökobilanzen und nachhaltigem Umgang mit der Umwelt.
