Studierende verschiedenster Fachrichtungen haben für dieses Buch mit führenden Klimaforscher*innen aus verschiedenen Disziplinen gesprochen. Diese umfassen nicht nur theoretische Physik, Paläoforschung und Klimamodellierung, sondern beinhalten auch die Rolle der Biosphäre, Extremwetterereignisse und Attributionsforschung. Darüber hinaus behandeln die Interviews auch die politische Dimension der Klimaforschung. Wie schauen sie auf Klimapolitik? Wo sehen sie Hindernisse? Was macht ihnen Hoffnung?

Prof. Gerrit Lohmann arbeitet am Alfred-Wegener Institut für Polar- und Meeresforschung in Bremerhaven. Seine Forschungsgruppe beschäftigt sich mit dem Klima der Vergangenheit und der langfristigen Zukunft. Er versucht, das Klimasystem durch Modellierung und Datenanalysen besser zu verstehen. Dabei geht es nicht nur um Zahlen, Daten und Fakten - sondern immer wieder auch um das große Ganze, um den Austausch mit anderen Forschenden oder der Politik. So spricht Lohmann auch im Rahmen von Radiobeiträgen oder öffentlichen Vorträgen über seine Forschung.
