Diese und noch viel mehr Begriffe stehen für Klima und Klimaschutzpolitik. Das Thema dieser Arbeit, Klimaschutz - Sachfragen und politische Strategien auf globaler und regionaler Ebene, ist sehr aktuell. Bereits das vergangene Jahrhundert war das wärmste seit langer Zeit, und die letzten zehn Jahre waren die wärmsten seit Beginn der Messungen im Jahr 1860. Woran das liegt wurde mittlerweile schon in vielen wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten dargestellt, es ist daher auch kein Geheimnis, dass die aktuelle Erwärmung eine Folge des vermehrten Eintrags von Treibhausgasen in die Atmosphäre ist. Was aber geschah auf politischer Ebene, um dieses Problem zu lösen? Meiner Arbeit stelle ich in Kapitel 1 zunächst ein Szenario voran, in dem die Folgen der globalen Erwärmung für das Jahr 2050 skizziert werden. In Kapitel 2 stelle ich das Klimasystem vor, wobei ich Wert darauf lege, den Zusammenhang zwischen den einzelnen Sphären herauszuarbeiten. Nur dann können die Folgen eines weltweiten Temperaturanstiegs in seiner ganzen Bandbreite verstanden werden. Danach befasse ich mich mit dem Treibhaus Erde, wo der "natürliche" und der "menschliche" Treibhauseffekt vorgestellt wird, ebenso wie die Hauptakteure, die Treibhausgase. Im dritten Kapitel wird die globale Klimaschutzpolitik bearbeitet. Die globale Welt und Weltpolitik interessieren mich schon seit einiger Zeit, so dass ich auf dieses Kapitel den Schwerpunkt der Arbeit gelegt habe. Neben der Entstehung eines internationalen Klimaschutzregimes, stelle ich bewusst die Vertragsstaatenkonferenzen einzeln vor, um zu demonstrieren, wie langatmig und
