In der vorliegenden Studie wird erläutert, worin die Interdependenzen zwischen der Landwirtschaft und dem Klimawandel liegen. Auf der einen Seite ist die Landwirtschaft einer der grö ten Mit-Verursacher der Klimaänderung, weshalb dessen Einbindung in Klimaschutzziele längst überfällig ist. Andererseits ist die Landwirtschaft der Wirtschaftssektor, dessen Produktion am stärksten vom Klima abhängig ist. Welche Ausprägungen hat der Klimawandel bereits angenommen? Welche Treibhausgase emittiert die Landwirtschaft und in welcher Höhe? Weshalb resultieren hieraus negative Externalitäten, die die Umwelt schädigen und letztlich zu Marktversagen führen? Wie kann dieses Marktversagen staatlicherseits durch umweltpolitische Ma nahmen wie Auflagen oder Zertifikate korrigiert werden? Welche Möglichkeiten haben Landwirte, die aus landwirtschaftlichen Produktionsprozessen resultierenden Emissionen zu reduzieren? Für diese und weitere Fragen zeigt das Buch Lösungsmöglichkeiten auf. Welchen Schaden die Landwirtschaft durch den Klimawandel bereits genommen hat und von welchen Klimafaktoren die zukünftige Nahrungsmittelversorgung abhängt, wird abschlie end erläutert.
