About The Book

Knot Heads - Did Knot Goes to College is a whimsical, illustrated allegory set deep in a forest where wooden beings called Knot Heads live, work, and speak in a delightfully twisted language. In their world, knot doesn't mean "not at all." It means in the very most way. To be "knot hungry" is to be absolutely famished. To be "knot innocent" is to proclaim innocence beyond doubt.

This playful linguistic paradox sets the stage for a surprisingly grounded story about choice, higher education, and personal agency.

When Was Knot (the owner of M. T. Heads Toy Factory) announces some changes, four little Knot Heads - Would Knot, Could Knot, Should Knot, and Did Knot face a crossroads. While some retreat into excuses, uncertainty, or endless deliberation, Did Knot takes action. Despite financial hardship, family obligations, and an uncertain future, she chooses a challenging path to higher education. Against the odds, Did Knot rises above her circumstances. In doing so, she proves to herself and the other Knots that hard work and making "saprifices" really does pay off.

As Did Knot grows, so does her impact. Her education equips her not only with knowledge, but also with confidence, leadership, and the vision to guide her fellow Knots toward an employee purchase of M. T. Heads Toy Factory, proving that progress doesn't come from what we would, could, or should do, but from what we actually do.

Written and illustrated by J. W.
