Im Hinblick auf die Lernforschung bedeutete die kognitionspsychologische Sichtweise nicht nur ein neues Verst ndnis in Bezug auf die innerpsychischen, kognitiven Prozesse und Organisationen bei der Informationsverarbeitung, sondern auch die Geburt einer g nzlich neuartigen Forschungsrichtung: der Erforschung von Lernstrategien. Der Behaviorismus, der sich dabei ausschlie lich auf die Art, den Ort und die Zeit des pr sentierten Lernmaterials und ihren Einfluss auf das Verhalten konzentrierte, legte den prim ren Fokus auf die Erforschung von Lehrstrategien f r die Lehrer. Lernen an sich betrachtete man als passiven Prozess. Innerhalb des kognitionspsychologischen Blickwinkels hingegen suchte man nun auch die mentalen Prozesse innerhalb des Lernenden zu verstehen, so dass der Schwerpunkt sowohl auf die Lehrstrategien des Lehrers als auch auf die Lernstrategien des Lernenden gelegt wurde. Als Lernstrategien wurden dabei die aktiven kognitiven Prozesse des Lernenden begriffen, mit Hilfe derer er den Lernstoff organisiert und strukturiert. Claire E. Weinstein und Richard E. Mayer z hlen zu den Pionieren kognitionspsychologisch begr ndeter Lernstrategieforschung wobei ihr Ansatz, der 1986 ver ffentlich wurde, viele der nachfolgenden Arbeiten nachhaltig beeinflussten. Bekanntheit erlange vor allem auch das von Weinstein entwickelte 'Learning and Study Strategies Inventory' (LASSI, 1987), ein diagnostisches Instrument f r Lehrer und Erzieher, das sowohl Lernstrategien als auch motivationale und affektive Aspe
