Nunmehr liegt die längst ge- plante Arbeit vor, die in gewissem Sinne die Fortsetzung der soeben erwähnten ist: Sie setzt da ein, wo die "Färbereichemischen Unter- suchungen" ihren Abschlu fanden, nämlich in dem umfangreichen Gebiete der Teerfarbstoffe und den k 0 I 0 r ist i s c h nUn e t e r- s u c h u gen. n Anschlie end an diese wurden die wichtigsten textil- chemischen Untersuchungen eingeflochten und damit ein ab- geschlossenes Ganzes geschaffen. Zweck und Charakter der Arbeit sind dieselben geblieben wie dort, mit dem Hauptunterschiede vielleicht., da hier auf breiterer Basis aufgebaut und somit weitergehenden Ansprüchen Rechnung getragen wurde, wie auch die "Färbereichemischen Untersuchungen" bei einer Neubearbeitung wesentliche Vertiefung und Erweiterung erfahren sollen. Aus der Praxis entstanden, soll die Arbeit vor- nehmlich der Praxis dienen: dem öffentlichen Chemiker, dem Färberei- chemiker, dem Färbereitechniker. Dann soll sie aber auch - aller- dings die chemischen und färbereipräparativen Grundlagen als be- kannt voraussetzend - dem Studierenden ein Leitfaden und Lehr- buch abgeben und nicht zum geringsten auch dem Farbstoffchemiker ein übersichtlich geordnetes Material bieten, das ihm die Prüfung seiner Produkte und die Schaffung einheitlicher Gesichtspunkte er- leichtern bzw. bei ihm anregen dürfte.
