Zunächst wird einmal das selbstgesteuerte Lernen an sich kurz erläutert und es wird auf die Komponenten des selbstgesteuerten Lernens eingegangen. Danach wird die Förderung von selbstgesteuertes Lernen unter Betracht gezogen, wobei zwischen der direkten und indirekten Förderung unterschieden wird. Die Forschungsfrage stellt sich wie folgt auf: Wie setzt sich selbstgesteuerte Lernen zusammen und inwieweit kann dieser Lernprozess gefördert werden? Die Frage um die Aneignung des selbstgesteuerten Lernens, stellt sich oftmals in aktuellen Bildungsdiskussionen. Selbstgesteuertes Lernen wird nicht als ein Akt angesehen, welcher einmal abgeschlossen wird, sondern lässt sich als ein lebenslang anhaltender kontinuierlicher Lernprozess beschreiben. Selbstgesteuertes Lernen ist mit viel Eigenverantwortung verbunden und spielt in der heutigen Bildungswelt eine immer grö ere Rolle. Nicht nur die Auswahl von Lernhilfen, sondern auch soziale Beziehungen können dazu gehören, da auch selbstgesteuertes Lernen innerhalb einer gemeinsam lernenden Gruppe erfolgen kann. Die Übermittlung von Wissen durch eine lehrende Person verblasst immer mehr und die eigenständige Aneignung von Wissen durch die lehrende Person selbst rückt immer weiter in den Vordergrund. Ab einem bestimmtem Lebensalter wird diese Fähigkeit von unserer Gesellschaft als selbstverständlich angesehen, jedoch ist der Prozess der Aneignung des selbstgesteuerten Lernens ein beschwerlicher Vorgang. Dieser Vorgang erfordert Fähigkeiten im Zusammenhang mit Lernstrategien. Nicht nur das eigenständige Lernen gehört zum Prozess des selbstgesteuerten Lernens, sondern ebenso das eigenständige
