Ob es sich urn eine Montagegruppe han- delte oder die Station eines Krankenhauses, urn den Vorstand einer Ver- sicherungsgesellschaft oder einen Pfarrbeirat, immer wieder traten iihnli- che Verhaltensmuster und Losungsvorschllige auf. Nach den ersten Erfolgen und MiBerfolgen begann ich, Protokolle zu verfassen und Konfliktarten und -lOsungen zu sammeln. Anfang der 70er Jahre schalte sich aus den gesammelten Konflikten und Losungen langsam ein System heraus. Ich lemte, welche Losungen flir welche Konflikte haufiger zu einem zufriedenstellenden Ergenbis flihren als an- dere. Wenn es flir eine bestimmte Konfliktsituation aber jeweils bessere oder schlechtere Losungen gibt, dann ist es notwendig, daB die Beteiligten ei- nen LemprozeB durchmachen, indem sie etwa die Nachteile ihres einge- fahrenen Konfliktverhaltens einsehen und andere LOsungen, die flir sie besser sind, in Betracht ziehen. Konfliktmanagement hat unter anderem den Sinn, daB Menschen ihre individuellen Praferenzen des KonfliktlO- sungsverhaltens erkennen und verandem lemen. Spater erkannte ich, d dieser LemprozeB nach einer allgemein be- schreibbaren GesetzmaBigkeit ablauft. So stand etwa fast immer Flucht vor der Aggressionsentwicklung, KompromiBfindung fast immer vor der muhevollen Konsensfindung. Als ich dann bei der Analyse historischer Entwicklungen des menschlichen Konfliktverhaltens quasi dieselben Entwicklungsschritte entdeckte, durch die auch Individuen in ihrem LemprozeB gehen mussen, urn ihr Konfliktverhalten zu verbessem, meinte ich, ein brauchbares System flir die Einteilung von Losungen ge- funden zu haben.
