Gerade mit Blick auf kritisch laut werdende Stimmen, die die Lernförderlichkeit und Effektivität multimedialer Lernumgebungen teilweise zu Recht in Frage stellen, ist es bei der Konzeption, Gestaltung, Beurteilung und Rechtfertigung des Einsatzes hypermedialer Lernsysteme entscheidend, wesentliche Theorieansätze zu skizzieren und ihren Niederschlag in den entsprechenden Programmen aufzuzeigen. Dabei ist es wichtig, sich vor Augen zu führen, dass der sinnvolle Einsatz computergestützter Lernumgebungen nicht allein von der Quantität und Qualität der verwendeten Technik bzw. von der Präsentation von Informationen abhängt, sondern sich vielmehr auch dadurch auszeichnet, dass diese Technik den menschlichen Lernprozessen gemä eingesetzt wird und sie unterstützt oder aber be- hindert. Bereits an dieser Stelle soll deshalb darauf aufmerksam gemacht werden, dass zwar den neuen Medien verständlicherweise eine besondere Qualität zugesprochen wird, die ihnen zugrunde liegenden Konzepte allerdings durchaus kritisch zu betrachten sind, da nicht davon ausgegangen werden kann, dass der Einsatz von Multimedia automatisch die Optimierung von Lernprozessen mit sich bringt und gleiche oder höhere Lerneffekte aufweist. Festzuhalten bleibt, dass eine auf wissenschaftlicher Basis beruhende, mediendidaktische Analyse multimedialer Lernangebote, die als Lösungen für bestimmte Bildungsprobleme konzipiert und vertrieben werden, eine realistische und objektive Betrach
