Prof. Dr. Christof Paar ist seit dem Jahr 2001 Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Embedded Security an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum und ist Affiliated Professor an der University of Massachusetts Amherst. Er gilt als einer der bekanntesten internationalen Wissenschaftler auf dem Gebiet der angewandten Kryptografie. Für seine Arbeiten hat er u.a. den Innovationspreis des Landes NRW und mit Kollegen den Deutschen IT-Sicherheitspreis erhalten, die jeweils mit 100.000 dotiert sind. Er unterrichtet seit über 20 Jahren Kryptografie und IT-Sicherheit in Deutschland und den USA und hat zahlreiche eingeladene Vorträge gehalten, u.a. am MIT, Stanford University, Yale, EPFL Lausanne und IBM Labs.

Prof. Dr. Jan Pelzl arbeitet seit 1999 im Bereich der eingebetteten IT-Sicherheit. Er setzte erfolgreich viele nationale und internationale Projekte um und verfasste zahlreiche relevante Publikationen bei renommierten internationalen Tagungen und Fachzeitschriften. In der Forschung untersuchte Jan Pelzl die praktischen Aspekte der angewandten Kryptographie und Kryptoanalyse bei elliptischen Kurven. Seit über 10 Jahren gibt Prof. Pelzl Kurse der Datensicherheit und Einführung in die Kryptographie für verschiedene Industrie. Prof. Pelzl war von 2007 bis 2014 technischer Geschäftsführer der ESCRYPT GmbH, einer Tochtergesellschaft der Robert Bosch GmbH. Seit dem 1.1.2015 hat Prof. Pelzl die Professur für Computer Security an der Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt inne. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in dem Bereich der Embedded Security und Cyber Security, insbesondere Automation, Automotive und Healthcare.
