Dabei werden drei Ziele verfolgt: Das Buch soll Mittler sein zwischen den Lesern, die sich in die Prognoserechnung einarbeiten wollen und den oft schwer verst�ndlichen Originalarbeiten �ber einzelne Prognoseverfahren. - Der Leser soll vertiefte Kenntnisse der Methoden erlangen und sie an Beispielen nachvollziehen k�nnen. - Die Fertigkeit zur konkreten Anwendung von Prognoseverfahren soll durch Auf- ben einge�bt werden. Dem ersten Ziel dient der weitgehende Verzicht aufmathematische Beweisf�hrungen, dem zweiten eine detaillierte Darstellung insbesondere der anspruchsvollen Prognose- verfahren, kombiniert mit empirischen Anwendungsbeispielen, die alle mit dem am Lehrstuhl des Verfassers entwickelten computergest�tzten Prognosesystem durchge- rechnet wurden. Ein vertieftes theoretisches Verst�ndnis ist jedoch ftir den Einsatz von Prognoseverfah- ren noch nicht hinreichend. Ihre Anwendung mu einge�bt werden. Diesem Ziel dient der umfangreiche �bungsteil mit Aufgaben und L�sungen zu den einzelnen Kapiteln des Lehrbuchs. Die Aufgaben k�nnen mit einem Taschenrechner gel�st werden, so da der Einsatz von Prognose-Software nicht erforderlich ist. Grundkenntnisse in Statistik und (f�r Kapitel G.) in Matrizendarstellung, wie sie im Grundstudium der Wirtschafts- wissenschaften erworbenwerden, reichen zur Durcharbeitung des Lehrbuchs aus.
