Mary R. Espinosa Ochoa es investigadora titular en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Realizó su maestría en adquisición del lenguaje en la Universidad de Durham (Reino Unido) y su doctorado en la Universidad de Hamburgo (Alemania). Su investigación está centrada en el desarrollo lingüístico temprano del español desde un enfoque funcionalista. Ha publicado artículos en revistas especializadas en temas relacionados principalmente con la adquisición temprana del tiempo y el espacio tanto en español como en maya yucateco. Actualmente está interesada en los factores del desarrollo lingüístico influenciados por las condiciones del entorno sociocultural de México.
