Rafael A. Osuba (b. 1967) is a visual artist, cultural producer, and storyteller. They are a nod to the influential Puerto Rican government posters and books (Libros para el Pueblo) of DIVEDCO (1950s-60s)-including works by artists like Rafael Tufiño and Lorenzo Homar, whom I respect and admire dearly-and also to the classic fairy tale books I enjoyed as a child." Osuba believes it's essential to teach children the value of preserving culture and highlighting the daily beauty and positivity around us. He strongly advocates for children seeing themselves represented in the books they read, regardless of their cultural, ethnic, or socioeconomic background.
