Martyrs and Persecutors: History of the Church from Suffering and Persecution is a book of great historical and political value. Dr. Ropero does research work, well documented, on the history of the persecutions that occurred in the first ten centuries of our era, focusing especially on those that occurred within the Roman Empire. Professor Ropero articulates his book in five main parts, the first four are framed in the Roman Empire reaching the time when its western dominions fell under the pressure of the barbarians. The fifth part deals with the persecution of Christians under Islam from its appearance to the tenth century. It includes:

Ropero, Alfonso: -

Alfonso Ropero fue pastor evangélico durante casi veinte años, decidió entregarse a la investigación y a la escritura. Tiene un máster y un doctorado en teología por el CEIBI (Centro de Investigaciones Bíblicas) y la Universidad Saint Alcuin House. Es profesor de Historia de la Filosofía en el CEIBI y director de su departamento de Humanidades. También ha sido Coordinador Editorial de la colección Grandes Autores de la Fe Cristiana de Editorial Clíe y sustituyó a Eliseo Vila en la dirección de esta editorial. Ha publicado más de un centenar de artículos sobre temas de Teología, Historia y Pensamiento. Participó en diversas reuniones y congresos en universidades nacionales y extranjeras. Ha editado epítomes y compendios de diversos clásicos cristianos y también los Comentarios de Martín Lutero.
