Les modèles grammaticaux traditionnels rencontrent leurs limites face à ces tours binaires, à cheval entre micro- et macro-syntaxe. Faut-il y voir des juxtapositions de phrases ou de sous-phrases ? des coordinations sans marqueurs ou des subordinations implicites ? Les enjeux théoriques sont ici très importants: définition des unités pertinentes, rôles de l'intonation, conditions des coalescences entre clauses... Issu des réflexions lancées lors du Colloque international de Neuchâtel (12-15 février 2007), cet ouvrage de synthèse procède à un large bilan critique, allant des acquis de la philologie classique aux avancées récentes de la recherche en syntaxe de l'oral, en prosodie, en sémantique, en linguistique diachronique.
Le tome 1 Entre dépendance et intégration dresse un état de la question: sur quelles définitions reposent les notions de parataxe et d'asyndète ? quels types de dépendance sont mis en jeu ? quels liens convient-il d'établir entre subordination, coordination et parataxe ? Enfin, comment se présente la parataxe dans les langues de l'antiquité classique et en indo-européen ?

About The Author

Les responsables de la publication: Marie-José Béguelin est professeur de linguistique française à l'Université de Neuchâtel où elle dirige l'Institut des Sciences du langage et de la communication. Ses travaux scientifiques portent sur la linguistique française, la linguistique textuelle, l'enseignement du français langue maternelle et langue seconde, la diachronie des structures syntaxiques, l'histoire des idées et des théories linguistiques. Depuis 2009, elle est membre de l'Académie royale de langue et de littérature françaises de Belgique.
Mathieu Avanzi est doctorant en linguistique française à l'Université de Neuchâtel. Sa thèse porte sur les relations entre prosodie et syntaxe, thème auquel il a déjà consacré plusieurs publications.
Gilles Corminboeuf est docteur en linguistique et chercheur à l'Université de Neuchâtel, dans le cadre d'un projet financé par le Fonds national suisse de la recherche scientifique. Sa thèse, parue sous le titre L'expression de l'hypothèse en français. Entre hypotaxe et parataxe (2009), a été couronnée par le Prix de la relève du Collegium romanicum. Ses travaux portent sur les relations entre syntaxe et pragmatique.
