Il existe deux grandes cat�gories d'apprentissage: l'apprentissage non associatif et l'apprentissage associatif. Les deux types d'apprentissage sont subdivis�s: l'apprentissage non associatif se divise principalement en habituation, sensibilisation et apprentissage perceptif. L'apprentissage associatif se subdivise en apprentissage par conditionnement classique et op�rant. Diff�rents groupes de neurones sont motiv�s en fonction des types de stimulation. L'habituation n�cessite des stimuli neutres et non nocifs qui r�duisent la quantit� de substances neurotransmetteurs dans le motoneurone postsynaptique, alors que pour la sensibilisation, la stimulation est biologiquement pertinente et augmente les substances neurotransmetteurs dans le motoneurone postsynaptique. Les stimulations visuelles augmentent la plasticit� dans diff�rentes zones corticales visuelles et les stimulations auditives/somatosensorielles augmentent le glutamate et l'ac�tylcholine dans les zones corticales auditives. Apr�s l'entra�nement, les stimuli conditionnels augmentent le niveau de glutamate entre les neurones pr� et postsynaptiques dans le circuit c�r�belleux. En ce qui concerne le conditionnement op�rant, les types de stimulation sont la r�compense ou la punition pour les comportements. Le syst�me de renforcement ou d'apprentissage par la r�compense implique la dopamine dans la VTA et le syst�me de punition est li� � la (5HT) dans l'amygdale, l'hippocampe et le cortex pr�frontal.
