L'argent est le sang du pauvre, écrivait Léon Bloy. Et il ne manque pas de vampires ! Vos fins de mois seraient peut-être un peu difficiles sans un découvert bancaire coûteux. En partie parce que vous vivez dans un univers hostile avide de votre pauvre argent. En partie parce que vous êtes complice de bien des dépenses inutiles que vous commettez pour les meilleures raisons du monde, du moins le croyez-vous. On n'est pas riche innocemment, pour paraphraser Saint-Just. On n'est pas non plus pauvre volontairement, mais chacun creuse sa tombe avec ses propres dents. Cet ouvrage n'est pas un répertoire de conseils, encore moins de recettes. Il se veut cependant utile. Il propose une série de réflexions appuyées sur certains faits et certains chiffres. A vous d'en tirer partie. Soyons franc, cela vous demandera un effort.

Après avoir enseigné à l'université, l'auteur a rejoint le MBA du Groupe HEC Paris créé sur le modèle des Business Schools américaines. Il y a évidemment enseigné et fait du conseil en entreprise, plutôt en sociologue. Dans celui-ci, trois souvenirs sont marquants: l'Hôpital, La Police, l'Afrique de l'Ouest, car les aspects humains y sont plus prégnants qu'ailleurs. Et plutôt en tant que psychologue s'est passionné pour des psychothérapies et des techniques désormais oubliées, la mode étant impitoyable ! Bien que littéraire de formation et "parleur" de métier, s'est enthousiasmé pour l'informatique, s'est même lancé dans la programmation avec les langages orientés objets et a rêvé ce qui est d'ailleurs advenu: le monde entier à portée de quelques clics. A sa retraite, s'est donc lancé dans la mise au point de sites Internet, sur des sujets moins professionnels. Mais ces sites n'ont pas hélas ! la même résistance au temps que les bons vieux livres papiers, machines et logiciels vieillissant et disparaissant à une vitesse un peu effrayante. En revient donc maintenant au livre.
