Auf allgemeine Aspekte der Lebensver- sicherung, die auch für andere Versicherungszweige gelten und in den Studienheften der Versicherungsbetriebslehre sowie der Rechtslehre des Versicherungswesens behandelt wer- den, wie z. B. Rechnungslegung, Vermögensanlage, steuer-, aufsichts- und vertragrecht- liche Fragen, wird nicht oder nur summarisch eingegangen. Durch eine detaillierte Gliede- rung sowie durch zahlreiche Beispiele, Tabellen und Abbildungen wird versucht, den Inhalt des Buches möglichst übersichtlich und leicht fa lich abzuhandeln. Die Literatur- hinweise beschra'nken sich auf ausgewählte Bücher und Artikel, die ein vertieftes Studium der in den einzelnen Kapiteln dargestellten Sachverhalte ermöglichen. Ausgehend von den Anfängen der Lebensversicherung im Altertum und Mittelalter wird im Kapitel A die geschichtliche Entwicklung der Lebensversicherung behandelt. A usführ- lieh wird auf die Erschütterungen der Lebensversicherung durch die mit dem ersten und zweiten Weltkrieg verbundenen Wirtschafts- und Währungskrisen eingegangen. Grund- legende Ausführungen über Wesen und Bedeutung der Lebensversicherung schlie en sich an. Kapitel B enthält eine Beschreibung aller bedeutsamen Lebensversicherungstarife. Be- sonderes Gewicht wird hierbei auf die neueren Lebensversicherungsformen, wie z. B. dynamische Lebensversicherung, Vermögensbildungsversicherung, fondsgebundene Le- bensversicherung, gelegt.
