Gegenwartige geometrische Forschung beschaftigt sich weitgehend mit Problemen, die keinen Bezug zu jenem Anschauungsraum besitzen, der durch Idealisierung der Erfahrungs- welt entstanden ist und fiir den die Verwendung eines naiven, inhaltlich festgelegten und nicht nur implizit erklarten Punktbegriffs typisch ist. Trotzdem spielen die der Anschauung zugang- lichen geometrischen Gebiete nicht nur yom heuristischen Standpunkt aus nach wie vor eine zentrale Rolle. Sie sind darLiber hinaus jene Bereiche, in denen die Bedeutung der Geometrie fUr die Allgemeinbildung und fUr Anwendungen in der Technik liegt. Zur sachgemaBen Behandlung der Geometrie des Anschauungsraumes wurde schon frLihzeitig neb en der Sprache und der Schrift die Zeichnung als drittes Kommunikationsmittel eingesetzt, was zur Entwicklung des Technischen Zeichnens und schlieBlich der Darstellenden Geometric gefiihrt hat. 1m Jahre 1953 hat E. KRUPPA die Bezeichnung Konstruktive Geometrie zur Kenn- zeichnung einer bestimmten Denk- und Arbeitsweise im Rahmen der Geometrie vorgeschlagen.
