Notre travail est une étude rétrospective menée à la maternité Issaka Gazoby de Niamey, portant sur une période de 12 mois Sur un total de 4832 accouchements au cours de l'année 2010, nous avons recensé 518 cas d'asphyxie périnatale soit une fréquence de 7,39%. Les mères sont en majorité des primipares (38,4%).A l'admission des parturientes, il existait une anomalie de BCF dans 56% des cas.La césarienne a représenté 66,2% du mode d'accouchement. Les nouveau-nés étaient à terme dans78,6% et de sexe masculin dans 56,8% des cas avec un sexe ratio de1,3. La mortalité globale était de 51,34%. Ce travail illustre les problèmes liés à l'asphyxie périnatale, une cause importante de la mortalité périnatale et des séquelles neurologiques.Il est destiné à tous ceux qui sont intéressé par la recherche dans ce domaine et le développement.
