Rita enseigne depuis dix ans et a reçu trois diplômes de l'Equity Literacy Institute ainsi qu'un diplôme de Diversité et Inclusion de l'université de Cornell. Elle vit à Toronto au Canada, avec son mari et son enfant de trois ans.
