This paper consolidates the observations of four of the United States Air Force officers assigned to the 2010-2011 Secretary of Defense Corporate Fellowship Program (SDCFP). In lieu of a year spent attending a traditional Senior Developmental Education program, they spent their academic year working with at Lockheed Martin (LM), Microsoft, Pratt and Whitney (PW), and Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX). Each Fellow spent approximately 10 months embedded within their assigned company as if they were one of the companies' employees. The Fellows were fully integrated into the corporate structure at the senior levels and were productive members contributing and engaging as if they were full time employees. Foremost, all Fellows were tasked to identify those best practices their companies' execute on a day to day basis for possible implementation within the Department of Defense.
