The first and only book of its kind, this cutting-edge and incredibly hysterical monologue book is specifically for actors auditioning for LGBTQ roles. LGBTQ Comedic Monologues That Are Actually Funny features works by LGBT writers and comics (and their allies) who have written and/or performed for Comedy Central, Backstage magazine, NBC, the Huffington Post, the Onion, Second City, E!, and many more. This collection is the go-to source for the comedic monologue needs of actors seeking LGBT material, as well as a paean to LGBT characters and artists.

Alisha Gaddis (Los Angeles, CA) is an Emmy and Latin Grammy Award winner, humorist, writer, and performer. She is a proud AEA and SAG AFTRA member, having performed on Broadway, at the Sydney Opera House, on the Comedy Central Stage, and on numerous television shows. Gaddis is executive producer and star of Lishy Lou and Lucky Too on PBS's Emmy Award-winning The Friday Zone. An alumna of New York University's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, Gaddis performs comedy as part of her nationally touring solo shows and at Improv West, Upright Citizens Brigade, and the Comedy Store. She is the editor of five other books in Applause's Monologues That Are Actually Funny series.
