Lighting Design Awareness is a refreshingly new approach for the undefined trade practice of landscape lighting design. This book is the first of a three-part series dedicated to the advancement of this artform. It introduces the foundational building block of 'composition.' Never before has this profession considered this line of thinking or to this extent. It also describes the common flaws exhibited today. For this reason, the landscape lighting design profession is not taken seriously, as compared to those working in landscape architecture, lighting design, and architecture--this is a problem. This book series establishes the proper understanding of this trade, as an art form. Our value and contribution to society will be seen by the positive solutions we can provide to human well-being. Carlson, Mark: - Mark A. Carlson has been a leader and proven landscape lighting designer for over two decades. He has performed all aspects of this practice, including design, installation, consultation, project management, and maintenance. He still engages these activities with his design-contracting business, Avalon Lighting Design. In 2019, he established and launched the Experiential Landscape Lighting Initiative (ELLI), which is dedicated to the trade practitioner and profession. It's the only educational resource available specifically to the landscape lighting designer.
