About The Book

Lineare Modelle mit Fehlern in den Variablen finden sowohl in der theoretischen Statistik als auch in den verschiedensten Anwendungsbereichen der theoretischen Statistik zunehmend Beachtung. Entsprechend ihrer Bedeutung wird ihnen in vielen Lehrbiichern der Statistik, aber auch in den Lehrbiichern der Okonometrie, ein eigenes Kapitel oder zumindest ein eigener Abschnitt gewidmet. Am ausfiihrlichsten ist wohl das Kapitel29 in Kendall / Stuart [1979]. In dem von Humak [1983] herausge- gebenen Buch haben Hoschel und Nussbaum in Kapitel 3 auf hohem abstraktem Niveau eine ausfiihrliche Darstellung der Modelle mit Fehlern in den Variablen gegeben. Dariiber hinaus gibt es mehrere Ubersichtsartikel zu diesem Thema, so vor allem Madanski [1959], Moran [1971], Anderson [1984] und Aigneret al. [1984]. Auf Spezialgebieten sind Monographien oder Sammelbande erschienen Mara vall, 1979; Geraci, 1982; Aigner/Goldberger, 1977. 1m Zusammenhang mit dem linearen Mo- dell haben Acton [1959], Williams [1959] und Sprent [1969] in ihren Biichern Modelle mit Fehlern in den Variablen beriicksichtigt. Ein Lehrbuch, das sich ausschlieBlich und umfassend Modellen mit fehlerbehafte- ten Daten wid met, gibt es dagegen noch nicht. Wir hoffen, mit diesem Buch eine Liicke zu schlieBen. Insbesondere hoffen wir, der gerade in den letzten Jahren zu beobachtenden stiirmischen Entwicklung auf dem Gebiet der Fehler in den Varia- bIen ausreichend Rechnung getragen zu haben. Diese fortschreitende Entwicklung hatte den AbschluB des Buches immer wieder verzogert. Ausgangspunkt bei der Konzeption des vorliegenden Buchmanuskripts war ein Fernstudienkurs, der von den Autoren 1977 -1978 auf Vorschlag von Prof. Dr.
