Kennzeichnend für diesen Bereich ist eine Reaktion einzelner Autoren auf einen jeweils anderen Kollegen. Lob, aber auch Kritik wurde somit durch einige Texte vermittelt. Derartige Phänomene stellen die Forschung bis heute vor Probleme und entfachen in regelmä igen Abständen heftige Diskussionen, wenn es darum geht, Literatur des (deutschen) Mittelalters einzuordnen oder Intertextualität nachzuweisen. Schon seit vielen Jahren prägt besonders eine kontroverse Diskussion im Bereich der Älteren deutschen Philologie/ Literaturwissenschaft die Forschung: Diese geht davon aus, dass zu den bekanntesten Bezugnahmen bzw. Reaktionen die sogenannte Reinmar - Walther Fehde des Mittelalters gehört. Die Autoren Walther von der Vogelweide und Reinmar sollen sich während ihrer Tätigkeit am Wiener Hof, welcher für Sangspruchdichter und Minnelyriker einen äu erst populären Ort darstellte, in einer Art Dichterwettstreit befunden haben. Weiterhin habe sich die Fehde zwischen beiden in mehreren Stufen bzw. Phasen vollzogen. In der Seminararbeit Literarische Konstrukte- Untersuchungen zur Reinmar- Walther Fehde soll dieser Wettstreit, wenn er denn überhaupt als solcher bezeichnet werden kann, näher beleuchtet werden. (...) In der Forschung ist dieser Wettstreit der beiden Dichter bisher sehr gut dokumentiert worden, so dass auch hier eine gute Ausgangslage für die folgenden Betrachtungen gegeben ist.
