About The Author

Carel van Mander (1548-1606) was a Dutch painter and poet. Giulio Mancini(1558-1630) was an Italian physician, art collector, and writer. Giovanni Balgione (1566-1643) was an Italian baroque painter and an art historian. Joachim von Sandrart (1606-1688) was a German art historian and painter. Charles Le Brun (1619-1690) was a French painter and art theorist.
