Losing My Mind is a story of survival against all odds. It's a story of faith and persistence, strength and endurance, optimism and hope, ups and downs, failures and successes, tribulations and revelations.. It chronicles my entire life up to age 34, but the main premise of this book focuses on the 13-year period following my bipolar diagnosis. I was diagnosed in 1995, at age 20. Subsequently I experienced numerous manic and depressive episodes that landed me in jail dozens of times, as well as institutions and psych wards. I also experienced and survived homelessness, addiction and living in group homes. I eventually overcame bipolar disorder and now live a normal life, but getting here was not easy. I wrote this book to bring awareness and attention to this and other mental illnesses. I hope to inspire others with this illness, and encourage and empower people from all walks of life. You will see how a mental illness can destroy someone's life, and how a person who is hopeless can turn it around, pick up the pieces and regain sanity and stability. It ia a real and interesting journey. There are things that happened to me that most people will be able to relate to. My struggle and triumph is inspiring and an important story that needs to be told. It will help people understand bipolar, and bring awareness to an illness that has destroyed many people's lives, and taken many others. If I can overcome all that it's proof that you can do anything you put your mind to if you remain positive, strong, persistent and keep the faith. You can never give up no matter how hard life gets sometimes, and my story will show my strength and help others find theirs. Anyone who reads this book will learn a lot and be entertained as the situations God has brought me through is amazing. I stayed strong and optimistic, and as a result I am a better person. I have a lot of wisdom to share with the world, and reading this book will change the lives of all who read it.

Calvin Dunn is an author and freelance writer from Cambridge Massachusetts. He is also a graphic and web designer, blogger and writing coach. He has used his experiences to inspire others to be the best at whatever you do. He overcame bipolar disorder after battling with it for 13 years, and now leads a normal life in southern Massachusetts. He wrote a book about his life in order to bring awareness and attention to mental illness, which has become an epidemic in this country.
