About The Book

Luck Of Lassendale is a novel written by Walter Stafford Northcote Iddesleigh and first published in 1902. The story is set in the fictional English village of Lassendale and follows the life of its inhabitants, particularly the young protagonist, Dick Stanes. Dick is a kind-hearted and hardworking boy who lives with his mother and sister in a small cottage on the outskirts of the village. Despite their poverty, the family is happy and content with their simple way of life. However, their luck takes a turn for the worse when their landlord decides to evict them from their home. In a stroke of luck, Dick is offered a job as a groom at the nearby Lassendale Manor, owned by the wealthy and benevolent Sir John Lassendale. Dick quickly becomes a trusted employee and forms a close bond with Sir John and his daughter, Lady Dorothea. As the story progresses, Dick becomes embroiled in a series of events that test his loyalty and bravery. He uncovers a plot to harm Sir John and Lady Dorothea and risks his own life to save them. In the end, he is rewarded for his bravery and loyalty with a happy ending, including a new home for his family and a bright future for himself. Luck Of Lassendale is a heartwarming tale of courage, loyalty, and the power of good fortune.
