One year after Lyric learned the truth regarding the news of his birth parents' from his grandmother, Lyric is now in college to study graphic design and he's still in a relationship with Layla who have always been at his side since day one. Lyric is still hesitant to accept Julia back into his life as his mother. Lyric still has some lingering questions which need to be answered by Julia. Meanwhile at a family event, Julia shows up hoping to reconnect with Lyric. Yet, emotions run high and secrets are spilled that will only end up in tragedy.

Donnell Hicks was born and raised in Miami, FL. The youngest of six children, he grew up in a home spearheaded by his loving strong mother. Donnell's adore for writing came in the second grade when he won "Writer of the Month." Donnell's passion for writing led him to be an avid reader. The first novels he read were the hit series scary thriller "Goosebumps." Being blessed by God, Donnell found himself writing poetry, short stories, and reading every genre from Classic Literature to Urban Street Fiction. Becoming inspired by the greatest talented British writer Charles Dickens also another urban lit writer Kwan Foye. In 2006, Donnell wrote his first un-released novel called "Heart of a Brother." He knew by writing his first novel, his love for writing would eventually grow. In 2008, Donnell graduated with an AS Degree in Fire Science Technology from Miami Dade College. One year later in 2009, he wrote and released his first novel entitled "Money, Hustle, & Betrayal." In 2010, Donnell was co-author of the "Almighty Dolla" anthology. Once again in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 Donnell wrote and self-published the Youngblood Series, In the Heat, Deadly Sins, including Love and Pain. He still resides in Miami, FL where he's currently working hard on his ninth novel entitled "Changing Faces." Meanwhile, Donnell is in the process of writing children books to help literacy in the African-American community. "I hope through my art I can inspire an entire generation."
