In her foreword to Magic Medicine, renowned homeopath Nancy Herrick states that homeopathy and Shamanism are two of the most successful healing systems on the planet. For the first time, they are described side by side in this book, allowing the reader to see how trance and journey, as well as miasms and ancestors, are integral to both forms of healing, albeit more obvious in Shamanism. The author contends that the same nature spirits that respond to a shaman's call are present within homeopathic remedies, and that profound healing is possible in both traditions. The author has taken the covers off the arcane and often misunderstood aspects of homeopathy, such as potency and dilution, to reveal how these very methods imbue homeopathy with power through the creation of nanoparticles within remedies. She also reveals how homeopaths use maps to find the correct remedy for a patient and, in the process, produce healing on the deepest levels.

A short descripton of the life of Samuel Hahnemann, homeopathy's founder, and his impact on current day practices, is given. Included is a detailed description of how homeopathic remedies are made, the elements of a homeopathic consultation, and animal, plant, and mineral sources for remedies. Homeopathic concepts such as miasms and remedy proving are also covered.

This short book not only compares two powerful healing traditions but functions as a primer to explain homeopahy and its processes and potential in a clear but sophisticated way. Readers who have no experience with homeopathy as well as those well versed in its methods (including homeopaths) will find the similarities between the traditions revealing and stimulating. Readers on the shaman path will now appreciate the role of homeopaths as colleagues.
