Shannon Thompson started her make-up training years before she knew she was going to be a make-up artist with the chores of applying make-up for the dead at her home; Shannon is the daughter of a funeral director and was raised over a funeral home as a child. She had the wonderful chore of helping her father with the funerals and applying make-up was one of the tasks on her list. Little did Shannon know, that this would open the door to who she would become in life. Shannon continued her education at Howard University in Washington DC to pursuing the craft of acting; upon her education Shannon like many others took a make-up course with the renowned Reggie Ray, although the class on paper seemed really simple, in reality the class was the most challenging class Shannon had ever taken and would change her life and career path forever. Shannon Thompson graduated Howard University with a B.F.A. Shannon's range of make-up work spans from beauty make-up to special effects; Shannon has excelled in the craft of make-up being one of the youngest members of the Make-Up Artist Union in 15 years. Shannon has worked on over 30 films / 4 Television shows / countless music videos as well as national editorial work in her make-up career thus far. Shannon's motto is "Make-Up is Just Colored Dirt! - If you don't like it you can wash it off and start over again," which is the beauty in the craft and artistry of make-up. Some things so small can change your spirit immediately, but for any reason that is not what you expected you can simply wash it off and start again! Priceless. Shannon is well-known in the industry for clean, flawless beauty make-up and realistic special effect make up. Shannon's upbeat, creative and colorful personality and her warm and welcoming smile is a plus to all that she has the honor to work with. Shannon believes that make-up is just as personal as someone's name; she makes sure she allows her client's beauty and or vision clearly shine through with a little help from her.
