Stefan Tapperts Entwurf zu Malte will nicht k�mpfen geh�rt entschieden zur zweiten Kategorie und gerade darin liegt seine literarische Sprengkraft. Im Mittelpunkt steht Malte, 22 Jahre alt, Bewohner einer m�den westdeutschen Stadt und Meister der passiven Verweigerung. Als die Wehrpflicht zur�ckkehrt, ger�t er in eine Welt aus Befehlen, Uniformen und Erwartungen, die ihm genauso wenig passt, wie ein schlecht sitzender Anzug. Doch Malte rebelliert nicht laut. Er schreit nicht, er organisiert keinen Widerstand. Sein Protest ist leise: Er will schlicht nicht k�mpfen. Nicht gegen Menschen, nicht gegen das Unerwartete. Literarisch erinnert der Ton stellenweise an eine Mischung aus Popliteratur und poetischem Tagebuch. Kurze Gedichte, ironische Dialoge und philosophische Notizen wechseln sich ab. Immer wieder taucht Frida auf, eine Freundin oder vielleicht mehr, die barfu durch S�damerika reist und damit zum Gegenbild von Maltes Stillstand wird. W�hrend sie die Welt erkundet, versucht Malte zu verstehen, warum ihm jeder Schritt vorw�rts in ein erwachsenes Leben wie ein Marschbefehl vorkommt. Was den Stoff interessant macht, ist nicht die rein politische Frage nach Sinn oder Unsinn einer Wehrpflicht. Dieses Problem steht zwar im Raum, aber die Betroffenen formulieren f�r sich eine ganz andere Frage. N�mlich: was ist Freiheit? Der Roman stellt sie radikal: Was bedeutet Freiheit f�r eine Generation, die theoretisch alles sein kann, aber innerlich oft orientierungslos bleibt? Ist Nichtstun Feigheit oder eine Form des Widerstands? Gerade diese existenzielle Unsicherheit tr�gt den Text. Der Autor beschreibt eine Gegenwart, in der Lebensentw�rfe so fl�chtig sind wie Instagram-Stories.
