Die hier abgedruckten Texte sind im Kontext der Berichtsarbeit des KSPW entstanden. Die Beiträge von Hans-Joachim Gergs und Klaus-Peter Meinerz wurden im Auftrag der KSPW erstellt; sie geben eine Zusammenfassung des Forschungsstandes zum jeweiligen Thema und berücksichtigen alle zugäng- lichen Forschungsbefunde, auch die von Untersuchungen, die nicht von der KSPW durchgeführt wurden. Die anderen Beiträge gingen zum Teil aus Referaten zu abgeschlossenen oder laufenden Forschungsvorhaben hervor, die bei einem Workshop der KSPW im Herbst 1995 vorgetragen wurden. Ein Resümee der Forschungsbefunde zum Management in der ostdeutschen Industrie von Markus Pohlmann und Rudi Schmidt erscheint als Kapitel 5 in dem gemeinsamen Bereicht der KSPW (Berichtsband 1). Die Herausgeber danken Uwe Werler für die Textgestaltung, Hans- Joachim Gergs und Klaus-Peter Meinerz für ihre umsichtige Hilfe bei der redaktionellen Bearbeitung der Beiträge und Beatrice Richter und Bernd Teufel für die Bewältigung der unvermeidlich anfallenden informationstech- nischen Probleme. Die Herausgeber Einleitung Markus Pohlmann und Rudi Schmidt Das Besondere am Systemwechsel in Ostdeutschland liegt darin, da er in bezug auf die sich etablierenden Makrostrukturen nicht ergebnisoffen ist. Es ist kein Übergang von einem bestimmten System zu einem unbestimmten "something else" (vgl. O'Donnell/Schmitter 1986: 3), sondern ein Kopier- vorgang von gesellschaftlichen Institutionen der BRD. Aufgrund kultureller Unterschiede ist dieser Kopiervorgang jedoch nicht einfach, sondern viel- mehr mit den, Anfälligkeiten" einer "Übersetzung" belastet. "Übersetzungs- fehler" sind dabei inbegriffen. Das italienische Sprichwort "Traduttore, tra- ditore" (leicht fehlerhaft übersetzt: Der Übersetzer ist ein Verräter) kenn- zeichnet auch die Problematik der Transformation in Ostdeutschland.
