Dadureh bleibt, wie ieh hoffe, die Lebendigkeit der Darstellung erhalten und darUberhinaus ein Eindruek von der Konkret- heit der Arbeit, die jeweils zu dem Bericht fUhrte. Anderer- seits ist aber stilistisehe Einheitliehkeit nicht zu erwarten. In einem theoretisehen Teil ist den Berichten eine Dar- stellung des hier vertretenen Konzepts der Ausbildung in mathematiseher Modellierung vorangestellt. Diese Darstel- lung basiert auf mehreren Veroffentliehungen, die an ver- sehiedenen Stellen ersehienen sind. FUr wen ist dieser Band zusammengestellt Spezielle Anforderungen an die Leserinnen und Leser werden dureh dieses Bueh kaum gestellt; Interesse an dem, was mathematisehe Modelle tun, ist Voraussetzung.
