Hemos dividido el libro en 35 textos, proverbios, consejos etc, están ordenados cronológicamente, desde el año 1915, unos son cortos y otros más largos, pero todos son de gran valor cuando se estudian con detenimiento. En ellos Jigoro Kano nos habla de la vida, de los valores sociales, de la amistad, del tiempo, de cómo debe ser un profesor ideal, del espíritu del esfuerzo, de la búsqueda de la verdad, de la honestidad, así como algunos consejos valiosos a los judokas etc. Hemos acompañado cada escrito con un pequeño comentario y análisis con el objetivo de remarcar la doctrina de Kano.
