Peter Geissler war ursprunglich Praktischer Arzt und ist seit 1982 Psychotherapeut in freier Praxis in Wien und Neu-Oberhausen/Gross-Enzersdorf (NO), Supervisor, Psychodiagnostiker, Veranstalter des Wiener Symposiums Psychoanalyse und Korper und Herausgeber der gleichnamigen Zeitschrift, sowie Herausgeber des Lehrbuchs Psychoanalyse der Lebensbewegungen (gemeinsam mit G. Heisterkamp). Wichtigste Stationen im Leben: Als wichtigste Stationen in meinem Leben sehe ich das Aufwachsen in meiner Ursprungsfamilie in Wien, mit den Eltern und den drei jungeren Brudern (Werner, Klaus und Christian); dann die Begegnung mit Christine, meiner Frau, sowie die Geburt unserer drei Kinder - Daniel, Andreas und Angelika; die Zeit der vielen Selbsterfahrungsgruppen, die meinem Leben eine ganzlich neue Wendung gab (1976-1979), die Begegnung mit der Bioenergetischen Analyse und der DOK, der Deutschen und Osterreichischen Gesellschaft fur Bioenergetische Analyse/Korperbezogene Psychotherapie, und mit meinem damaligen bioenergetischen Lehrtherapeuten, Waldefried Pechtl (1979); sowie die gemeinsame supervisorische Arbeit mit Jacques Berliner aus Belgien (1991-1996), in einer kleinen Gruppe von Kolleginnen und Kollegen, die in die Grundung des AKP, des Arbeitskreises fur analytische korperbezogene Psychotherapie, mundete.
