Luis de Rivera (nombre completo, Jose Luis Gonzalez de Rivera Revuelta) es Catedrático de Universidad, Doctor en Medicina, Especialista en Psiquiatría, Especialista en Medicina Interna, Psicoanalista y Psicoterapeuta. Estudió en las Universidades de Navarra, el Pais Vasco y McGill de Canadá y fué Full Professor de Psiquiatria en la McMaster University de Hamilton, Ontario. Ha sido Catedrático de la Universidad de La Laguna en Canarias y en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Es Miembro Númerario -"Fellow"- del Royal College of Physicians de Canada, de la American Academy of Psychoanalysis y del International College of Psychosomatic Medicine. Es autor de 15 libros, 300 artículos y más de 200 conferencias, ponencias y comunicaciones en congresos. Además del español, domina el inglés, el francés y el italiano. Es presidente de la Sociedad Española de Psicoterapia y ex Presidente de la Sociedad Española de Medicina Psicosomática.
