About the Author
Dr Aneesh Basheer, MD (Internal Medicine), FAIMER, FRCP (London), is currently serving as Professor and Head, Department of General Medicine, Dr. Moopen's Medical College, Wayanad, Kerala. He is a well-recognized clinician and academician with 15 years of teaching experience in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. He completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Trivandrum, and his MD in Internal Medicine from JIPMER, Puducherry. Dr Basheer is the principal investigator for several ICMR-funded studies. He has 70 publications in international and national indexed journals with over 350 citations. He is also the Academic Editor of the prestigious PLOS One journal and the Associate Editor of Asian Journal of Medical Sciences and Journal of Current Research in Scientific Medicine.He is also on the expert panel for interviews of the Union Public Service Commission and for question paper setting of UPSC and various institutes like JIPMER; Dr Nayyar Iqbal, MD, DNB (General Medicine), MRCP (Edinburgh), is currently serving as Professor, Department of General Medicine, and Medical Education Coordinator, Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, Puducherry. He is a well-known clinician and medical educator with 13 years of teaching experience in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Dr Iqbal has more than 30 publications in both national and international indexed journals. He is an Academic Editor of the prestigious PLOS One journal. He has been instrumental in establishing the virtual reality skill lab at his institute, the first in Puducherry.; Dr Harpreet Singh, MD (Internal Medicine), is currently working as Associate Professor of Medicine at the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. He is also the in-charge of MICU at MAMC and Lok Nayak Hospital. He has a teaching experience of more than 12 years. Dr Singh has been a part of the Medical Education Unit (MEU) at MAMC for the last 7 years. He is also actively involved in the implementation of the new CBME curriculum. He holds numerous publications in both national and international journals and chapters to his credit.
