Meditations by Marcus Aurelius is a collection of personal notes written by the Roman Emperor, sharing his thoughts on how to live a good and meaningful life. In these writings, he reflects on how to stay calm, be kind and deal with challenges. The book focuses on ideas like being strong in tough times, controlling your emotions and understanding what truly matters in life. For readers, this book is useful because it offers simple yet powerful advice on how to handle stress, improve self-discipline and find peace in daily life.Aurelius' Meditations, written in Greek while on campaign between 170 and 180 AD, is still revered as a literary monument to a philosophy of service and duty, describing how to find and preserve equanimity, a state of psychological stability and composure, in the midst of conflict by following nature as a source of guidance and inspiration.

Born on 26 April 121 AD, Marcus Aurelius was Emperor of Rome from 161 to 180 AD. He ruled with Lucius Verus as co-emperor from 161 AD until Verus' death in 169 AD. Marcus Aurelius was the last of the socalled Five Good Emperors. He was a practitioner of Stoicism, and his untitled writing, commonly known as Meditations, is a significant source of the modern understanding of ancient Stoic philosophy, which is considered by many commentators to be one of the greatest works of philosophy.
