Carlos López Dzur repasa con este libro, Memorias de la contracultura, de los momentos cimeros del imaginario histórico de la juventud americana y latinoamericana, estilos y preocupaciones de su propia juventud, cuando hippies y luchadores, anarquistas y rockeros, forjaron una época increíble.

Carlos López Dzur, poeta, novelista e historiador puertorriqueño de la Generación del '70. Autor de las novelas Las Juderías, Berkeley y yo, Las hienas: bestiario colonial y El pueblo en sombras. Tiene publicadas además una docena de libros poéticos y de cuentos. Pertenece al Circulo de Poetas de Puerto Rico que dirige Zoé Jiménez Corretjer y ha sido incluído en Editorial Maravilla. Nacido el 1 de septiembre, residió en Orange County, California, por más de 35 años y recién regresó a su Puerto Rico natal. Ganó el Certamen Literario Chicano de la Universidad de California, Irvine, en 1986. En esa institución obtuvo un PhD en Filosofía contemporánea.
